Digicel PNG and Telikom Limited Sign Tower Sharing Agreement to Enhance Connectivity Across Papua New Guinea

Port Moresby Papua New Guinea, 15 October 2026

Digicel PNG and Telikom Limited have signed a Tower Sharing Agreement that will enable both telecommunications operators to share tower infrastructure across Papua New Guinea.

The Tower Sharing Agreement represents a strategic infrastructure sharing arrangement, aimed at enabling more efficient network expansion, supporting improved connectivity and the delivery of greater value in mobile and broader ICT services to customers across Papua New Guinea.

Under the agreement, each operator will be able to install equipment on suitable tower sites owned by the other operator, subject to meeting technical, operational, safety and commercial requirements. The agreement establishes a consistent process for co-location, while allowing each company to maintain independent network operations.

Digicel PNG Interim Chief Executive Officer, Brett Goschen, said the agreement demonstrates how industry collaboration can optimise use of telecommunication infrastructure and accelerate the delivery of connectivity outcomes for Papua New Guinea.

“Connectivity is critical to Papua New Guinea's economic and digital future. Through closer collaboration and shared infrastructure, we can extend network coverage more efficiently, reduce costs and accelerate access to reliable services for more communities.

We look forward to working with Telikom, and continuing to expand access to connectivity that contributes to the country's long-term growth and development," said Goschen.

Telikom’s Chief Executive Officer, Amos Tepi, OBE, said the agreement represents an important milestone in strengthening telecommunications infrastructure and supporting the continued expansion of connectivity across Papua New Guinea.

“Agreements like this enable us to extend our reach more efficiently and bring the benefits of connectivity to more Papua New Guineans. By leveraging existing infrastructure, we can focus investment where it creates the greatest impact for customers and communities while continuing to strengthen our network and services. We are pleased to work with Digicel PNG and look forward to contributing to a more connected and digitally inclusive Papua New Guinea,” said Tepi.
