Digicel Samoa Launches New Mobile Tower in Asau

Apia, Samoa, 29th September 2026

As part of its ongoing investment in the region’s network infrastructure and digital future, Digicel Samoa has launched a new mobile tower in Asau, further strengthening connectivity for communities across western Savai'i.

The investment in Asau reflects its importance as a key centre in the island's western region. The location of the new tower was identified as a priority for additional network infrastructure to support growing customer demand, enhance coverage and reliability, and benefit communities across western Savai'i  by providing modern telecommunications services.

The new tower builds on Digicel Samoa's broader network investment programme, which has seen WST$22 million invested in network infrastructure over the past 18 months, including the rollout of additional 4G and 5G sites across Upolu and Savai'i.

The launch also marks another milestone in Digicel Samoa's journey of connecting Samoan communities. For more than 20 years, the company has invested in telecommunications infrastructure and technology across the country, helping Samoa to stay connected and access the opportunities available in an increasingly digital world.

Karl Vizvary, Digicel Samoa CEO, commented: "At Digicel Samoa, the launch of our Asau tower is another important step in our continued investment in Savai'i. We are committed to ensuring that our customers can rely on Digicel Samoa for strong, consistent and dependable connectivity. This investment is about more than just infrastructure. It is about connecting communities, supporting businesses and giving more people access to the opportunities that digital connectivity provides."

As Samoa continues its digital transformation, Digicel Samoa remains focused on investing in the infrastructure and technology needed to align with the latest advancements in telecommunications.
