Digicel Samoa proudly announced a $50,000 sponsorship for the Football Federation Samoa (FFS) to support their vital grassroots development program. This sponsorship underpins Digicel Samoa’s commitment to helping support youth development, healthy lifestyles and fostering strong local communities.

In recent years, youth sports, particularly football, have grown in popularity in the region. Junior tournaments are valuable platforms for nurturing young talent, promoting physical activity and fostering social skills.

Digicel Samoa CEO, Anthony Seuseu, said; “It is an honour to support the Football Federation Samoa and their grassroots program for primary age children in Samoa. We all know that the future of our country is our children, so we know this is a worthwhile investment. With our support for the youth footballers, we want to help mould our future stars, so that all Samoa age group teams can be the best in Oceania.”

The Digicel Samoa Summer Liki tournament will be held in Upolu on July 24 and 25. The tournament will have 10 schools compete in the two-day competition.

The FFS believes that the Digicel Samoa Summer Liki tournament is expected to grow with the addition of more schools participating in the tournament in the coming years. There are plans to take the program to Savai’i next year. This will maximise the participation of girls and boys at the grassroots level.

By supporting the FFS’s grassroots program, Digicel Samoa aims to help empower young athletes, ignite community spirit, and pave the way for a brighter sporting future in Samoa.
