Digicel Tonga is proud to partner with Tonga Rugby league, Tonga XIII, ahead of their highly anticipated campaign at the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

The partnership continues Digicel Tonga's long-standing support of rugby league in Tonga. Over the years, Digicel Tonga has proudly backed the national team during major international campaigns while also investing in the development of local rugby through initiatives such as the Digicel Cup and youth development pathways. The announcement comes as Digicel Tonga celebrates 18 years of operations in Tonga, marking nearly two decades of connecting communities and supporting the passions that bring Tongans together.

As an official partner for the Tonga Rugby league during the tournament, Digicel Tonga will back the squad throughout the World Cup campaign. Tonga XIII is scheduled to open their World Cup campaign against England in Perth on October 17, followed by fixtures against Lebanon and a Pacific blockbuster against Samoa.

To enable fans across the Kingdom to follow the action, Digicel Tonga will bring Rugby League World Cup matches live to viewers through Digicel TV and their mobile entertainment app, DTV.  The broadcast coverage will enable supporters throughout Tonga to watch Tonga XIII compete on the world stage and unite behind the team.

Christopher Manaog, CEO of Digicel Tonga, said "for 18 years, Digicel Tonga has been part of the fabric of this Kingdom, connecting communities and sharing in the passions of our people. There is no greater passion in Tonga than standing behind our sporting heroes on the international stage. We are thrilled to step up as an official partner for this World Cup campaign. We will bring our customers and fans closer to the action than ever before through a series of fan engagement initiatives and will be broadcasting every match on Digicel TV and DTV”.
