Digicel Tonga has launched six 5G sites today, marking a significant leap forward for Tonga’s digital landscape, empowering individuals and businesses alike. 

Digicel Tonga customers with compatible 5G devices in Kolomotu’a, Fanga, Pili, Kolofo’ou, Ma’ufanga and Ma’ufanga Wharf will be among the first in Tonga to experience the power of 5G.

Digicel Tonga customers with compatible 5G devices in Kolomotu’a, Fanga, Pili, Kolofo’ou, Ma’ufanga and Ma’ufanga Wharf will be able to access faster speeds than their current 4G speeds, enabling them to enjoy superior streaming, fast downloads and an enhanced gaming experience.

Initial test results at the new 5G sites boasted average speeds of a staggering 550-600Mbps, with the full potential reaching up to 1Gbps. Speeds may vary due to factors such as location, distance from the mobile tower, local conditions, concurrent users, hardware and software configuration and download/upload destination. In non-5G coverage areas, customers will automatically switch to our 4G or 3G.
