This service ensures you have seamless access to data and calls, with eligibility based on your account's usage history.
1. What is the IOU?
Digicel’s IOU service provides a convenient lifeline for prepaid customers, offering an immediate credit or bundle advance whenever your balance runs low. You can quickly request between WST 5 and WST 15 via the MyDigicel app or by dialling *166# to maintain your connection. This service ensures you have seamless access to data and calls, with eligibility based on your account's usage history.
2. How does the IOU work?
You have two easy options.
USSD:
1. Simply Dial *166# from your Digicel prepaid number.
2. Select Option 1 – See Offers.
3. Choose between Credit or Data bundles.
4. Confirm your selection – the IOU is applied instantly.
MDA:
1. Open the MyDigicel Pacific App.
2. On the home page, scroll down to Digicel Offers.
3. Tap Emergency Loan and choose your IOU between Plans and Credit
3. Am I eligible for the IOU service? If not, how can my number be eligible?
You are eligible only if all of these conditions are met:
Your number is prepaid (not postpaid or Digifix).
Your account is at least 90 days old (3+ months on the network).
You top up regularly – this shows you are likely to repay your IOU.
Your current ABM (available balance) is WST 3.00 or less.
You have no existing outstanding IOU balance.
4. How do I pay back my IOU, and what is the fee?
Repayment happens automatically when you top up your account. Any of these top‑up methods will repay your outstanding IOU balance:
Scratch cards (physical or electronic)
EVD (Electronic Voucher Distribution)
MyCash
Diaspora top‑up
Service fee: 10% of the IOU amount is added to your repayment.
For example:
IOU of WST 5 → you repay WST 5.50
IOU of WST 15 → you repay WST 16.50
The fee is not charged upfront – it is deducted when you top up.

6. Can I request another IOU if I already have an outstanding IOU balance?
Yes. Digicel allows multiple IOUs, even if your previous IOU has only been partially repaid. However, your total outstanding IOU amount cannot exceed your assigned “IOU limit.” Once you repay some or all of what you owe, you can request new IOUs again.
7. How can I check how much IOU I am allowed to take (my IOU limit)?
Follow these steps to see your available IOU limit:
Via MyDigicel Pacific App:
1. Tap the IOU / Credit Advance section.
2. Look at the top of the screen – your IOU limit is shown there.
Via USSD *166#:
1. Dial *166#.
2. Select Option 2 for Check IOU Limit.
As you take IOUs, this limit decreases. When you repay, the limit increases again.
8. Can I use IOU while roaming outside my home country?
Yes. IOU works even when you are roaming in other countries. This is especially useful if you run out of credit while traveling and need to make an urgent call or use data. Standard roaming charges apply to usage, but the IOU itself is still available.
9. I can only see the IOU the Prime $3, How can I get higher plans like $13 or $15?
Your maximum IOU amount depends on your top‑up history and account activity. To increase your IOU limit:
Top up your number actively and frequently – for example, every few days or weekly.
Maintain a good repayment record (no missed or late repayments).
Wait for the whitelist refresh (Digicel updates eligible customers every 1–2 months).
Higher‑value plans (WST 13 and WST 15) are automatically offered once your usage and repayment behaviour qualify you for a larger IOU.
